This was a real find.
Best Tri tip I've ever had.
Baby back ribs.....same story.
I will frequent this place. -

Barbecue on the west side, for whatever reason, is somewhat slim pickins.
When this " Barbecue and Cajun" spot opened near me I was hopeful but not super optimistic, so we waited a while to try it while I kept an eye on other yelper's reviews.
It is in one of the micro restaurants in Bethany Village and shares space with the Mediterranean place. That means it is more like a food truck. There is outdoor seating or you take it home. I am tired of seeing reviewers mark the micro restaurants down a star for no seating. They were not meant to BE full fledged eat in places.
Anyway.
Dining companion and I ordered:
1) Pulled pork sandwich, add coleslaw on top for $1. The pulled pork was pretty good, not stringy or mushy. The sauce was decent, it was smoky. The roll was not my fav. It was chewy and not toasted. But the coleslaw was nice. I'd get it on the side next time. We shared everything and it was an ok size to share. Not huge, not tiny.
2) Potato salad. It was good Not too mayonnaisey. Made in house. Not sweet. Decent.
3) Mac and cheese with smoked chicken on top. It needed help. Soggy penne noodles,a little sticky cheese, diced smoked chicken. The chicken was smoky and tender but overall this was bland. We put ground pepper on top. It needed something. I would skip it.
There are some different choices available like salmon and andouille sausage. There are some typical barbecue and cajun things missing ( cornbread, beans, greens, dirty rice).
It was okay. A solid three. Nothing was bad but nothing was astoundingly delicious. Given the context of the west side it is a decent choice.
If you don't have time to drive to Matt's or Reverend's I would give it a go. -

Review is based on one sandwich - the pulled pork sandwich.
The sauce and bread were good. The portion size very good. The meat wasn't chunky enough - too "pulled" (pulverized?).
3.5 stars for now - will try a different meal again and update once have more info. -

Had such high hopes for this new walk up bbq in Bethany Village. So disappointed. Ordered the half rack of ribs for $11 and no sides. It took forever.
The ribs were small and had hardly any meat. Two bones were nothing but gristle. The ribs were nicely smoked but the taste was ruined when cold, overly sweet bbq sauce was dumped all over. The cheese bread stick had no cheese flavor and has the texture of just coming out of the microwave.
Absolutely no attention to overuse of plastic. Plastic silver ware, plastic cups, everything comes in a to go box.
Probably won't be back...too bad -

The owners are friendly and their tri tip was fantastic. I liked how it was thin cut and the moisture level was perfect. It is definitely a plus to the bethany area since we previously had ZERO BBQ restaurants. I would highly recommend checking them out!
